Ambassador Yang Houlan calls on Prime Minister of Nepal

On June 21, 2011, Ambassador to Nepal Mr. Yang Houlan called on Prime Minister Khanal in the PM's office. PM's foreign affairs advisor Tuladhar, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nepal, Political Counselor of Chinese Embassy Mrs. Xi Hui, Commercial Counselor of Chinese Embassy Mr. Bai Dongmin attended the meeting.

Ambassador Yang conveyed Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's cordial greetings to PM Khanal, and said that as the traditional friendly countries, exchanges and cooperation in all fields have been graining strong momentum between China and Nepal. He would make unremitting efforts to further promote the comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries.

PM Khanal requested Ambassador Yang to convey his cordial greetings to Premier Wen, and welcomed Ambassador Yang on his assumption of new office. He said that Nepal and China are traditional friendly neighbors and the Government of Nepal attaches great importance to China. All the administrations firmly pursue the One-China Policy, consider that Tibet and Taiwan are integral parts of China, and the territory of Nepal would never be allowed to be used for anti-China activities by any forces. The Government of Nepal and the Nepali people appreciate China's longstanding assistance in economic and social development to Nepal. Nepal side is willing to cooperate with China to jointly promote the sound and rapid development of Nepal-China relations.
