The Chinese Embassy to Nepal Held the Reception Marking the 84th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Liberation Army

       On July 29, 2011, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy to Nepal Sr. Col. Cheng Xizhong held a reception to celebrate the 84th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Liberation Army in the Nepal Army Club. H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan and all Chinese diplomats, Acting Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Rana and all officers in the capital above the Major General title, the Information and Communication Minister Mr. Sapkota, Education Minister Mr. Tuladhar, Energy Minister Mr. Bista and other Nepali leaders, Defence Attachés of some countries, heads of friendly organizations, representatives of Chinese-funded organizations and overseas Chinese totaled more than 420 persons attended.

       The reception was in a warm, friendly and festive atmosphere. Sr. Col. Cheng had introduced the details of the PLA's development and achievements during the past 84 years. There were pictures on display about the advanced deeds of our army men, and a video which showed the great spirits of sacrifice and courage of our army were also played during the reception. After watching with interest, the guests all praised China's great achievements in national defense and military modernization, spoke highly of the outstanding contributions our military had made to ensure the rapid development of China's economy and society, and expressed their admiration and affirmation to the positive role the PLA had played to safeguard the regional and world peace and stability.
