China, Japan Hold 11th Round of Strategic Dialogue in Tokyo

On February 28, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun and Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kenichiro Sasae held the 11th round of China-Japan strategic dialogue in Tokyo. Both sides exchanged views on China-Japan relations and relevant major issues in a positive, candid and in-depth manner.

Both sides agreed that the meetings and contacts between the leaders of the two countries at the end of last year have pushed for improvement and development of bilateral ties. This year is of great significance to China-Japan relations. Both sides should implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and push for sound and stable development of the ties.

Both sides agreed to make joint efforts to further build up political trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation in all areas and improve people's feelings toward each other. They also pledged to properly handle sensitive issues and create sound atmosphere and conditions for celebrating the 40th anniversary of normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties next year.
