The Third Session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee and Consultations between the Two Foreign Ministries Held in Beijing

On December 9, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping and Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev held the third session of the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee and consultations between the two Foreign Ministries in Beijing.

Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Turkmenistan relations, high-level exchanges, pragmatic cooperation as well as the international and regional issues of common concern. The two parties decided to earnestly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, and to comprehensively deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields so as to push forward the continuous development of the bilateral strategic partnership.

Both sides summarized the achievements of security cooperation between the two countries since the second session of the China-Turkmenistan Security Cooperation Sub-Committee was held last year, and expressed their determination to further strengthen the security cooperation between the two countries, to crack down on the "three forces", drug trafficking and other transnational organized crimes so as to jointly safeguard the peace and stability in Central Asia. After the meeting, the two sides signed the "Minutes of the Third Session of the Security Cooperation Sub-Committee of the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee".
