Yang Jiechi Meets with Acting Minister of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of Brazilian Presidency Marcelo Neri

On December 6, 2013, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with the Acting Minister of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of Brazilian Presidency Marcelo Neri in Cape Town, South Africa.

Yang Jiechi said that this year has witnessed new progresses of the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership. The two meetings between President Xi Jinping and President Dilma Rousseff showed the direction for the future development of the China-Brazil relations. Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. Both countries should maintain close high-level exchanges, promote cooperation in various fields, strengthen coordination in international affairs, and promote the China-Brazil relations to a new high. China actively supports Brazil to hold the sixth BRICS Summit next year.

Neri said that at present, the Brazil-China relations are developing well in all fields, and Brazil hopes to continue to maintain leadership exchanges with China and deepen mutual understanding and cooperation.
