On October 16, 2009, H.E. Mr. Qiu Guohong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Nepal, visited Jhapa district in eastern Nepal and inaugurated the new chapter of China Study Center in Jhapa District. Mr. Madan Regmi, Chairman of China Study Center, Mr. Dahal, Chief District Officer of Jhapa, and hundreds of local people were present on the occasion.

In the opening ceremony of the establishment of China Study Center Jhapa Chapter, Ambassador Qiu said the new chapter of China Study Center will not only enhance the strength of the center itself, but also increase the friendship and mutual understanding of the two peoples. He hoped that China Study Center Jhapa Chapter will help the local entrepreneurs to do more businesses with China and forge the economic cooperation among China, Nepal and India by taking advantage of its geographic closeness with India.
