On February 11, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Nepal hosted a Losar Reception to celebrate the coming Earth Ox Tibetan New Year. Tibetan compatriots residing in Nepal celebrate it with the Embassy staff.

In the reception, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Qiu Guohong extended season's greetings and sincere wishes to all Tibetan compatriots residing in Nepal. Qiu pointed out that the Tibet Autonomous Region of China has achieved great progress in 2008, marked by rapid economic growth, social stability, consolidated unity of all ethnic groups and tremendous development in rural areas. Qiu said that the central government of China has always attach great importance to the living conditions of overseas Tibetans and consistently adhered to the policy of "all patriots are of one family" and "it is never too late to join the ranks of patriots". "It's the sincere hope of the motherland that all Tibetan compatriots will, as always, continue to support the development and stability of TAR, take part in the construction of China, and maintain the great national unity and unification of China in the future", Qiu emphasized.
