Ambassador Yu Hong attends the Spring Festival Reception Held by Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council
On 11 February, 2017, Nepal China Cultural and Educational Council (NCCEC) held the Spring Festival reception in Kathmandu. Rt. Hon. Mr. Nanda Bahadur Pun, Vice President of Nepal, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Onasari Gharti, Speaker of Nepal, Hon. Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Nepal, Ambassador Yu Hong, the Embassy staff, and the representatives of the Chinese enterprises, Confucius Institute teachers and other guests were present.
Vice President Pun sent New Year greetings to the Chinese leaders and Chinese people. He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1955, Nepal-China relations have been developing on the basis of mutual respect and support. The Nepali side would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Chinese friends for their important help and support for the development of the economy, society, education, health, infrastructure construction of Nepal. The Nepali side expected to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and push forward the Nepal-China relations to a new height.
Ambassador Yu made a brief introduction of the new progress in China-Nepal relations. She said that China advocated worldwide free trade and connectivity, holding that development concept, policy means and growth mode should be innovated and multilateralism and social equity should be promoted. She wished the two countries enjoy prosperous and the two peoples happy and well-being.
