On April 6, 2019, Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi met with Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Nepal K. P. Sharma Oli, and delivered the donation of 50 thousand USD for the districts affected by the violent storm on behalf of the Red Cross Society of China.
Ambassador Hou said, China and Nepal are friends in deed and friends in need, the Chinese side pays close attention to the disaster. The Chinese people share the same feeling with the Nepali people, donate to Nepal through the Red Cross Society of China, extend condolences to all the victims and sympathies to their families and the injured. The Chinese people will firmly stand by the Nepali people and would also like to provide assistance to the post-disaster reconstruction within capacity, cooperate in disaster prevention and reduction with the Nepali side.
