Nepali citizens and citizens from other foreign counties should provide the following basic documents when applying Chinese visas:

1, The original passport with at least six-month validity and two blank pages for visas

2, Fill the Chinese Visa Application Form (PDF,click here to download) truly and completely, and hand in with a recent passport picture and passport photocopy

3, Invitation letter or visa recommendation form issued by authorized department should be original copy or faxed one

Special notes:

a, Visa application can be made by the applicant or entrusted travel agencies. Chinese embassy doesn't accept visa application by mail.

b, It takes four working days to get visas. If applicants want to get visas in less than four working days, urgent fee will be charged.

c, Chinese embassy has the right to turn down such applicants' visa application that provide fake personal information or fail to fill the application form truly and completely.

Individual visa

Diplomatic or official visa

Applicants should provide:

1,Notes from Ministry of foreign Affairs of Nepal, diplomatic missions stationed in Nepal and International organizations

2,Visa recommendation form issued by relevant authorized Chinese departments. The relevant authorized Chinese departments refer to ministries under the State Council, local governments, foreign affairs offices and commerce departments of province, autonomous region and municipality, and acknowledged departments by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China

Tourism visa and visa for visiting relatives (L)

Applicants should provide:

1, Recommendation letter from companies

2, Confirmed round-trip air ticket and its photocopy

3, Valid Nepali visa or residence certificate for third country citizens

4, Invitation letter of relatives in China and photocopy of their valid residence certificate in China for visiting relatives

Business visa (F)

Applicants should provide:

1, Invitation letter of Chinese companies or relevant authorized Chinese departments

2, Recommendation letter from Nepali companies or employers

3, Visa recommendation form issued by relevant authorized Chinese departments for applying multiple visa. The relevant authorized Chinese departments refer to ministries under the State Council, local governments, foreign affairs offices and commerce departments of province, autonomous region and municipality, and acknowledged departments by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

Visa for attending meeting, making cultural exchange, performing and participating in sports activity (F)

Applicants should provide:

1, Visa recommendation form issued by relevant authorized Chinese departments. The relevant authorized Chinese departments refer to ministries under the State Council, local governments, foreign affairs offices and commerce departments of province, autonomous region and municipality, and acknowledged departments by the Consular Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

2, Recommendation letter of Nepali company or relevant department

Study visa (X)

Applicants should provide:

1, Admittance letter of the Chinese school or university and its photocopy

2, Foreign students visa application form (JW01 or JW02) issued by Ministry of Education and its photocopy

3, Physical Examination certificate issued by Nepali public hospital and its photocopy

((The holder of X visa is kindly reminded to go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit for aliens in local public security bureau within 30 days of entry to avoid illegal stay.)

Employment visa (Z)

Applicants should provide:

1, The original visa recommendation form issued by relevant authorized Chinese departments

2, Employment permit issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and its photocopy, or Foreign Expert Confirmation Letter issued by Foreign Expert Bureau of China and its photocopy

3, Recommendation letter of Nepali company or relevant department

4, Physical Examination certificate issued by Nepali public hospitals and its photocopy

Transit visa (G)

1, Valid visa to enter other countries or regions

2, Confirmed round-trip air ticket and its photocopy

Application of visa to visit Tibet Autonomous Region

A, to engage in business or scientific activities in Tibet, Nepali people need to provide:

1, Visa recommendation form issued by authorized departments in Tibet Autonomous Region, including Office of Foreign Affairs and Department of Commerce.

2, Recommendation letter from relevant Nepali departments or companies.

B, bearers of ordinary foreign passport (not nepali) who want to visit Tibet can first apply to Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) through relevant travel agencies, and then apply for group visa to enter Tibet with the permit letter issued by TTB in the consular section of Chinese embassy. Bearers of foreign diplomatic or official passport (not nepali) who want to visit Tibet should contact the political section of the Chinese embassy in Nepal directly. C, Indian and Nepali citizens holding ordinary passport should join pilgrimage group if planning to pilgrimize in Tibet.

D, Travel agencies authorized by Tibetan Autonomous Region government to organize pilgrimage groups should provide:

1,Visa recommendation form from Tibet Foreign Affairs Office

2,One copy of list of tourists group

3,Passport photocopy

Visa or entry permit to enter Hong Kong SAR, China

A, Chinese citizens to enter Hong Kong SAR

Stopping over Hong Kong with Chinese passport, Chinese people can stay for seven days without entry permit by holding valid passport and air ticket.

If the duration in HK exceeds seven days, Chinese people have to apply for less-than-30-day single or double entry permits.

B, Nepali citizens' application to enter HK

1, Chinese embassy doesn't accept the application to enter HK for the first time. Those applicants should apply for visa to Immigration Department of Hong Kong directly.

2, Chinese embassy can issue transit visa (double entry, 7 days each entry at most) to Nepali businessmen and officials holding diplomatic and official passport for transiting in HK and visit visa (double entry, 14 days each entry at most) to Nepali businessmen and officials holding diplomatic and official passport.

3, Applicants should provide invitation letter offered by HK government, enterprises, legal societies, organizations and communities, or recommendation letter from Nepali giant organizations or communities.

4, Applicants should fill one HK visa application form, and hand in one picture and one passport photocopy.

C, Foreigners to enter Hong Kong SAR

Citizens from those countries enjoying visa-free treatment have no need to apply for visa.

Special tourism visa

Applicants who want to travel around China by trekking, driving or other special means should contact with Chinese national travel agencies such as China Travel Service through local travel agencies, and hand in materials for approval such as list of travelers, travel program (including place and date to enter China, itinerary, cities to visit, and schedule) and transportation means. It will take more than three months for approval.
