           The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has kept a close watch on the recent devastation caused by the flood in many parts of Nepal. After the comprehensive briefing of the disaster by H.E. Mrs. Sahana Pradhan, Minister for Foreign Affairs on August 3rd, the Embassy immediately forwarded the request of Nepalese side for seeking international cooperation and assistance back to Beijing. To express the deep sympathy of Chinese Government towards the stricken people and the gigantic loss incurred in the flood in Nepal, as well as to demonstrate the profound friendship and feelings of the Chinese people towards the Nepalese people, China, although suffering from a series of floods, has decided to offer its unselfish assistance within its capacity by contributing 200,000 RMB Chinese Currency through Red Cross Society of China to Nepal Red Cross Society. Similarly, the Government of Tibet Autonomous Region, the People's Republic of China has also decided to provide some relief materials equivalent to 300,000 RMB to the stricken areas, including tents, carpets, pure water and food.
